From the kitchen to your wardrobe…Socks have launched

The majority of my illustrations live in the kitchen......on tea towels, aprons and prints. Each piece celebrating food, moments with friends or loved ones and giving people's kitchens some personality. But recently I started thinking about how those illustrations could live somewhere new.

Somewhere beyond the kitchen.

That idea is what led to the launch of my illustrated socks.

The two designs - Fish & Chips and Coffee both started life as illustrations that many of you already know from my tea towels and prints. Both are very popular designs, so they felt like the perfect place to start.

Turning those illustrations into socks was more complicated than I expected. Unlike my tea towels, which are printed onto fabric, socks are woven using a jacquard knitting process. That meant reworking the original artwork so it could be translated into thread. Colours had to be reduced, details simplified and the designs adapted to work around the shape of the sock.

It was a challenge and I loved learning new skills and the processes involved in creating socks.

The result is a classic sock, made in Britain using combed cotton for softness and comfort. The aim was to create something that feels like a natural extension of my collection; colourful, playful and designed to be enjoyed every day.

And perhaps most importantly, it means you can now take my illustrations out into the world with you.

Whether you’re heading to work, meeting friends for coffee, or just relaxing at home, these socks bring a little bit of colour and character to the day.

I can't wait to see what people think of them. Check them out here.
